Every piece moves through four stages before it goes live, and the record of that passage is archived with it.

Research
Hypotheses are generated, connections mapped, and questions surfaced. This stage's job is to ask, never to assert — nothing leaves it as a finding.

Verification
Every claim is graded against the primary-source record, one at a time. Nothing inherits a grade from the claim sitting next to it.

Right of Response
Anyone named on the site can object, correct the record, or add context. Responses run verbatim, alongside the original claim.

Pre-publish legal review
An eight-item checklist archived with every piece: sources captured, grades assigned, forbidden words audited, standing invitation present, signed off.
Five grades, hardest to softest.
Every claim carries one — stamped FACT only when the documents are there, or flagged honestly as smoke we're still chasing.
- FACTTakes: A primary document or on-record admission that settles the claim on its own terms. · Refuses: Reporting about a document. One outlet's characterisation. Anonymous sourcing.
- PROBABLY TRUETakes: Multiple independent reports plus corroborating documents — but no admission and no court finding. · Refuses: A single outlet, however good. A document that implies rather than shows.
- SOME SMOKETakes: A pattern, association, or unexplained payment we can document but cannot yet explain. · Refuses: Anything that already clears a higher bar. Anything we can't document at all.
- PURE SPECULATIONTakes: An intuitive reading with no evidentiary support yet, tracked in public so it can develop or dissolve. · Refuses: Any presentation as established fact. Any repetition elsewhere as settled.
- FALSE / MISLEADINGTakes: A claim in circulation that the primary-source record contradicts. · Refuses: A claim we merely doubt. Disagreement is not a disproof.
The scale doesn't care who you voted for.
The grift is bipartisan, so the documentation is too. Democrats, Republicans, royals, billionaires — same plane, same plays, same evidence bar. A claim is not graded up because the subject is inconvenient to one party, or down because they are useful to another.
That is the whole reason to grade one claim at a time: no finding inherits its credibility from the one sitting next to it.
